Arizona State University Military Spouse Study
The goal of this study is to learn more about the perspectives of spouses of active duty U.S. military service members on mental health and mental health treatment through an online survey. Your participation may contribute to a greater understanding of the experiences of military spouses, which could potentially lead to interventions to support military spouses and families.

We are conducting a research study to understand issues regarding how married, active duty military couples think about mental health concerns and mental health treatment.
Your participation will involve completing a one-time online survey. For this survey, we are interested in learning more about your attitudes about seeking services for mental health concerns that may or may not be combat-related, and communication related to mental health. Ultimately, our goal is to develop interventions to improve mental health in military service members and families. If you decide to participate, we anticipate that the survey will take approximately 30-40 minutes to complete.
Please note that you must be 18 years or older and married to an active duty service member (any branch) to participate.
There are no identified long-term risks of participating in this research. It is possible that you may experience discomfort while answering questions about your attitudes about mental health and your service member’s mental health. You may leave a question blank if you do not wish to answer.
Although there may be no direct benefit to you, your participation may contribute to a greater understanding of the experiences of military spouses, which could potentially lead to interventions to support military spouses and families.
All of your survey responses will remain completely anonymous. They will be stored in a password protected folder that only the research team can access. If results of this study are used in reports, presentations, or publications, results will be presented in group form only.
